Score one for girl-power

I played Risk against a bunch of boys last night. One of them said before the time that (and I quote) “Girls just can’t strategise” – I did enjoy taking over three quarters of his territories in one turn.

This was after the guy-in-question’s girlfriend asked why I was placing last (unlucky dice-roll) when, as the only girl playing I “should have gone first automatically!”

I love them both but I hope they grow some sense before they have any daughters.

Hah!

My brothers are obsessed with the game and it drives them nuts when we all get together every Christmas and I refuse to play (too many bad memories of Monopoly thrashings).

good for you, you land grabbing strategist. ;)

Kath: My brother used to destroy me in monopoly too, in fact I'm pretty sure we never finished a game as kids because it invariably became a 'you're heating!' fistfight!

Nes: thanks :)

I've won a game of Risk! Okay, admittedly I only won because Garrith and I had just started dating (unknown to all the other players)and he refused to attack any of my territories! He he he... :)
