So are you?

So the other day one of my mother's friends saw me, but didn't say hi because I was talking to someone else at the time (and I probably wouldnt recognise her anyway). She called my mom to say she had seen me (why is this news? do people think I'm on house arrest?). At some stage during their lively discussion about me, my 'style' (for lack of a better word) came up.

She asked "Is she a goth?" my mother was a bit surprised and said asked why she would think so. Apparently, black eyeliner and blue hair makes me a goth. I was probably also wearing my super-cool paperclip earrings (I like them!) at the time. It really doesn't bother me much, except that my mother came home and relayed the conversation to me.

"I said, of course not! You're just enjoying being young!" I smiled and nodded
"Ok then!"
After a rather awkward silence she asked "So, are you a goth?"

LOL You could always show her a picture of Marilyn Manson or something and tell her that when you start to look like that then she can worry. :P

See over here with the blue hair and earrings you'd be considered punk. But of course it also depends on clothes too.

I have my breast cancer awareness shirt on today that says "I Love Boobs" with the heart having the breast cancer ribbon running through it. You wouldnt believe how many people think I'm a lesbian then. It's fun.

Our new shirt this year says "Help Save 2nd Base"

So there you are a goth and I'm a lesbian :D Haha

Nothing says goth like eyeliner... Which means that pretty much every female (and an awful lot of emo boys) is goth! Darn - and to think the reason people become goth is to shun the masses and express their individuality...

Brazen: I had bright red hair for a bit, and loved it (my ultimate goal is to get the red like Jean Gray and in X-men 3, I thought that was so cool!), brown was definitely less high-maintenance though!

Suvvygirl: Good plan! But I think that might be a bit harsh...

SARAH!!!: I agree, we should have a soapie-intervention!

Candice: I know! And it was such a mission to figure out the whole eyeliner thing, I refuse to stop wearing it!

Bwahahaha! This is such a hilarious post...

I went through a phase at varsity where I'd go to lectures in goth kit one day and pink princess gear the next. I loved trying a new over the top look every day and I reckon my folks thought I was on drugs. It was fun ;-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll definitely be back to yours.
